The Ryan Institute strives to provide affordable educational support to our scholars and to parents alike by developing tutor to scholar relationships. Tutors for The Ryan Institute, LLC generally come from a partnership with Morgan State University’s Society of Future Educators and future STEM related professions. These young educators in training complete a rigorous training in the reading principle and philosophies for teaching. The intensive training prepares them to work with many different students. Additionally, the use of college students provides an advantage over the seasoned professional as it allows us to provide quality service at a reasonable cost. Furthermore, we strongly believe that utilizing college students as tutors affords scholars a level of comfort because of the generational reliability. We have found that the following to be most effective strategies for struggling urban readers:
Ø Experience and exposure to various content through the student interest and the arts
Ø Clear, concise, and consistent desired outcomes
Ø Early intervention of at-risk learners
Ø Regular monitoring of achievement
Ø Parent involvement
The services we offer are one-to-one tutoring, small group instruction, workshops, education professional development, and keynote speaking. The Ryan Institute, LLC will customize our services based on our clients’ needs.
